Energy Management
A&J Refrigeration feels that monitoring the status of
your equipment is important in today’s market.
With the rising costs of energy, it is critical to make sure that all
equipment is running to par. We provide accurate control and monitoring of parallel and single-unit compressor
systems, condensers, and distributed control of display fixtures through a case
control system. Our Mechanics are highly trained in CPC, ComTrol
and Encore Systems. We install and service
Energy Management Systems. We could
remote monitor a store through these programs; keeping costs down and making
response time quicker.
The greatest simplest improvement with the quickest return
on investment is steady control of head pressure of the refrigeration rack.
Most condensers utilize some type of fan control, usually pressure switches
turning fans on and off. This is an inherent problem in itself because the
instant condensing of the refrigerant actually pulls the refrigerant back into the
condenser, causing the txv's to hunt, pressures to
fluctuate, and affecting the system’s balance. Then there's the system
efficiency. With four condenser fans, 10 amps each running at 50%, (2 fans) is
using 20 amps, will reject about 90 btu's
per watt. Installing a variable frequency drive controlling the fans, would run
all four fans at 50% with a heat rejection of 360 btu's
per hour, (because we use the entire face of the condenser); but at only 12% of
the rated amp draw, under 5 amps, less than half the rated amp draw of one
motor! This is fact, easily proved using the third power law of
electricity. With an energy management
system controlling the refrigeration, we can increase or decrease defrost, run
times, stage compressors much more efficiently and track any alarms, or
problems, keep logs, notify us of any emergencies- and permit changes and
corrections from the field, many times without the technician having to report
to the job site. The time saved can prevent literally thousands of dollars of product
loss. Just one such emergency prevented can repay the cost of the installation.
Controlling refrigerant loss has become a high priority in
the refrigeration industry. The high cost of replacements, coupled with the
increasing government fines levied against those who release CFCs and HCFCs into the atmosphere, drive the need to invest in
high-quality leak detection equipment. CPC manufactures a line of products that
accurately detect leaks and take immediate action to notify store personnel.
Their systems are proven effective in supermarkets, refrigerated warehouses,
industrial plants, and any other facility that is concerned about refrigerant
leakage.
